The Sessions | Mobile Alabama Wedding

Sessions Wedding DMP-549.jpg

Oh what joy is was to be a witness to this union of two high school sweethearts last June in Mobile, Alabama.

Shelby & Bryan were married in their home church of Christ United Methodist Church. If you’re from the Gulf Coast area, you know that afternoon rain showers will happen in the summer. They also say it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day, so I’d say these two are all set! But the little rain didn’t damper the mood, instead they decided to roll with the punches & as a photographer, I was thankful they trusted my portrait locations.

There were many touches that made Shelby & Bryan’s wedding day special much like her bouquet filled of sunflowers, her favorite, with a charm of her great-grandparents who got married on June 8 seventy-two years prior. And the baseball inspired cake displayed at the reception that share their love of the sport.

Enjoy a look back at this sweet June wedding day as they celebrate their first anniversary this year!

A dream come true is what this Mobile bridal portrait session was. For years, Shelby has dreamed of a portrait on the grand marble staircase at the History Museum of Mobile in downtown Mobile, Alabama. Now you might be thinking, that’s an odd request…until you see it.

Shelby just received her education degree from Springhill College with a focus in history, so this session combined all of her worlds. And to top it off, All A Bloom made a stunning bouquet centered around the bride’s favorite flower - a sunflower.

Oh & her dress! Ya’ll, it’s what every Southern girl dreams of. Shelby, I had so much fun playing “dress up” with you before your June wedding day.

In case you were not aware, the History Museum has the cutest little courtyard that we just had to take advantage of. Hello white walls with greenery growing up it for days! #photographersdream

As we were about to make our transition to a new location, a small rain shower came out of nowhere. #soMobile We pulled together resources & umbrellas & made a move across town. Huge thanks to the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion for having one of the best covered porches in Mobile, Alabama. Eventually the rain stopped & we got a few more lovely bridal portraits along the oak drive.

Shelby & Brandon June Wedding Alabama Gulf Coast

Do you remember those late night phone calls? The long distance drives to visit during your college years. The laughter shared during road trips to the beach. Each one of those moments brought you here. Today is the day you marry your best friend & will be able to call him your husband, finally. Today begins your day one. Your forever.

Shelby & Brandon are two of the sweetest people I have ever worked with. So gentle & sweet & true. You might even remember their beach engagement session from this spring - here it is for a refresher. So when June rolled around, I couldn't wait to photograph their wedding day. A chance for 100% rain & severe weather turned into a perfect overcast day with a little rain at the reception for good luck of course. Enjoy a few of my many favorites from their day one.

St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Parish provided the perfect location for Shelby & Brandon to become one. The grand architecture of the windows & wooden arches mixed with a simple shade of white made my photographer heart come alive. Not to mention the palm trees aligning the sanctuary reminding guests that you are near the coast.

The celebration continued over at the Five Rivers Delta Hall in Spanish Fort, Alabama with cake a dancing - my favorite!

I was talking to a friend earlier this week about how my first year of business I basically did everything I could to keep afloat. And this second year I have really tried to find my voice, my tribe & serve them the best I can. I can honestly say that Kayla is one of those precious finds. We have laughed & laughed together. From dreaming about the choir in busting out in "Hey Ya" during her wedding ceremony to sending gifs back & forth via text, she gets me.

Kayla trusted me when it came to picking a spot for her bridals. So being the hopeless romantic Southern gal that I am, I decided upon one of my favorite best kept secrets in Baldwin County - the Swift-Cole Historic Home in Bon Secour, Alabama. *We just so happened to pick out the most humid day known to man to adorn a wedding gown & walk around. Between the sticky Gulf Coast humidity, gnats & sweat, she rocked it.

This girl put in countless hours at the gym with her personal trainer, Rita, & it shows. Hello tiny waist & curves!! Nothing like feeling your absolute best for your wedding day. You get it girl! You are absolutely stunning!

The Taylors | June 11th, 2016

Hannah & Kyle were wed on Saturday, June 11th, 2016 at the Citronelle Community Center.

And let me just say, despite the little rain shower moments before the ceremony, their wedding was absolutely perfect. Hannah chose to go simple considering the outdoor venue & sprinkled touches of purple here & there. Kyle & his men looked oh so handsome in their navy suits.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day!

Her girls were flawless & hilarious.

Can we just take a moment to take in the gorgeous venue & her dress?!
